The efficient operation of Medical Gas Control Centers is a critical factor for safety, availability, and continuity of hospital care. Modern healthcare facilities face increasing complexity, requiring continuous monitoring, advanced automation, and real-time management of multiple gas sources.
Within this context, the L9 CMACU is introduced as the new upgraded control board integrated into Medical Gas Control Units, offering enhanced monitoring and real-time management capabilities designed to meet today’s operational demands.
From L6 CMACU to the New L9 CMACU
The L9 CMACU is the natural evolution of the widely implemented L6 CMACU, which will be developed and launched to address the growing needs of modern hospital installations. The system will ensure alignment with international safety and operational standards.
A key upgrade will be the ability to support five medical gas sources, compared to the four sources supported in the previous version. This enhancement provides increased flexibility in system design and operation, particularly in facilities with complex source configurations or higher demand requirements.
Smart Source Management with Time Schedule Configuration
One of the most significant new features of the L9 CMACU is the Time Schedule Configuration function. Users will define time-based operation schedules for each source, determining when and how each source will be active.
Additionally, users could select the supply volume (e.g. in LOX tanks). This functionality will enable the improved consumption control, optimized source utilization, and more efficient system management, reducing unnecessary switching and equipment wear.
Advanced Visualization and User-Friendly Interface
The L9 CMACU introduces dedicated on-screen menus that visually identify each source type, such as cylinders, vessels, and other supply formats. The graphical display provides clear, immediate system status information, supporting fast and confident operator decisions.
The system will be brought available in touchscreen displays of 5, 7 and 9-inch sizes, allowing flexibility to match different installation and operational requirements.
One System, Multiple Roles
A major competitive advantage of the L9 CMACU lies in its extensive input and output capabilities. This allows the system to function simultaneously as:
- an alarm panel,
- a repeater,
- and a communication hub for other boards within the L9 family.
This multi-role functionality reduces the need for additional hardware and simplifies system architecture, improving reliability and ease of operation.
Connectivity, BMS Integration, and Remote Monitoring
Communication with Building Management Systems (BMS) will be supported via Modbus TCP/IP or dry contacts, ensuring seamless integration with central building control platforms.
In parallel, the integration of telemetry through the Medimote application will enable trained users to monitor system performance remotely in real time. Furthermore, all alerts and system notifications will be delivered via email or SMS, significantly enhancing preventive management and operational safety.
Future-Ready Design with NFC and Mobile Maintenance
The future enhancement of L9 CMACU by including the addition of NFC technology is an option. This feature will allow authorized maintenance personnel to update the system through a mobile application upon completion of maintenance procedures, including confirmation of servicing and cleaning of source counters.
This capability strengthens traceability, maintenance documentation, and long-term system reliability.
Real-Time Control, Intelligence, and Reliability
The L9 CMACU is not simply a hardware upgrade, but a comprehensive control and management tool for modern Medical Gas Centers. By combining intelligent scheduling, remote monitoring, advanced connectivity, and future expandability, it significantly enhances safety and operational continuity.
The new control board reflects G. Samaras’s commitment to delivering smart, reliable, and digitally supported medical gas infrastructure solutions.
