The continuous upgrading of production equipment is essential for maintaining high standards of quality, precision and reliability. As part of our ongoing investment in technological development and the expansion of our production capacity, G. Samaras S.A. is upgrading its facilities with the addition of two new, state-of-the-art systems.
The investment includes a new 4-axis CNC machining centre and a new pollution-control wet paint booth. These two additions enhance different but complementary stages of the production process. From the precision machining of components and profiles to the controlled application and drying of paint, they create a more integrated production flow with increased control at every stage.
New 4-Axis CNC Machining Centre
The new AIM 4420 is a 4-axis CNC machining centre designed for processing different types of aluminium and PVC profiles, as well as thin steel and low-carbon alloy profiles. The machine can perform a wide range of operations, including drilling holes and slots, angled machining, cutting, milling and notching. Its ability to process three surfaces of a profile enables complex operations to be completed with fewer intermediate movements and repositioning steps. Automated control across four axes provides high levels of precision and repeatability, which are particularly important when manufacturing components and systems that must meet strict technical specifications.
The machining centre features a tool magazine with a capacity of up to eleven tools, including a 180 mm diameter cutting disc. Its spindle operates at speeds of up to 20,000 revolutions per minute, while movement speed along the X-axis reaches 80 metres per minute. These capabilities allow operations to be completed more quickly without compromising the precision of the final result. Profiles are secured using four automatic pneumatic clamps, which can be increased to six depending on the requirements of the application. Their positions are calculated and adjusted automatically, helping ensure correct material positioning and stability throughout the machining process.
The system is complemented by a 21-inch colour touchscreen, CNC programming software, the ability to import external programs via USB and remote technical support through an internet connection. The protective enclosure, safety fencing and collision-prevention systems further enhance the protection of both operators and equipment.
Greater Precision and Flexibility in Production
The integration of the new CNC machining centre enables the production of components with greater consistency and reduced variation. Digitally controlled movements minimise the potential for human error, while the ability to save and repeat programs supports the production of both standardised and customised constructions.
At the same time, carrying out multiple operations on a single machine reduces the need to transfer materials between different production stations. This shortens the overall processing time, improves production flow and strengthens our ability to respond to projects with increased or specialised technical requirements.
New Pollution-Control Wet Paint Booth
The second part of the investment involves the installation of a new six-metre-long wet paint booth. The booth has internal dimensions of 6.00 metres in length, 3.92 metres in width and 2.80 metres in height, providing sufficient space for painting components and constructions of varying sizes.
Its modular structure includes walls and ceiling sections made from flat, 40 mm thick polyurethane panels. At the front, it features a 2.50-metre-wide double opening door, as well as a smaller access door. Integrated glass panels allow the process to be visually monitored. The booth is equipped with a 120-kW air heating unit, a gas burner and an air supply system with a capacity of 20,000 cubic metres per hour. Airflow is automatically adjusted through an electro-pneumatic damper, depending on whether the process is in the painting or drying phase.
During painting, air is supplied and extracted, while during the drying phase the system operates using a closed-air circuit. Damper movements are fully automated, and the drying process follows a predefined program. Temperature is monitored and regulated through a digital thermostat, ensuring stable and controlled operating conditions.
Filtration and Reduction of Environmental Impact
The booth’s pollution-control unit is particularly important. The system includes 21 square metres of ceiling filters, a pre-filter, PAINT-STOP paint filters and 150 kilograms of activated carbon. The PAINT-STOP filters capture solid particles and paint mist generated during the painting process. The activated carbon helps retain volatile compounds, reducing the environmental impact of the air discharged from the system.
The pollution-control unit is CE certified and supported by a declaration of conformity. It has been designed in accordance with the relevant provisions and applicable standards. In this way, improvements to the production process are combined with greater environmental responsibility and safer working conditions

The simultaneous addition of the new machining centre and wet paint booth represents more than a simple renewal of mechanical equipment. It is a comprehensive investment in production quality, automation, safety and greater internal control over our processes.
The new CNC system improves the precision and speed of machining operations, while the new booth provides controlled painting and drying conditions. Together, they allow G. Samaras S.A. to manage more stages of the manufacturing process within its own facilities, reducing dependence on external processes while maintaining consistent quality standards.
