G. Samaras overview
The nurse call system is installed in a nursing unit. It provides patients or other to be able to call a nurse in
case of an emergency but also in case of some other patient need. It is a straightforward system which
ensures the safety of personnel and patients. Each nurse call system consists of the following common elements:
- Nurse Station: a terminal unit (console) which receives all signals of the entire system
- Corridor light: provide a visual call sign of each room
- Handset units: it gives a patient access to hospital staff as well as control of their environment
- WC units: a pullcord and cancellation button in the bathroom or toilet
- Room call units: for nurse call presence, intercom, etc.
